August 27th, 2007 · No Comments
Good morning,
Steph appointed me to be moderater a couple of days ago. You know,
approving new members and such.
This morning she wrote to ask me to post that she will be in the
hospital for a couple of days. Nothing too serious I don’t think, but
I will let her share whatever details she is comfortable sharing.

I’ve been feeling very lethargic, run down, and I’m having what can
only be described as a form of hot flash. At random times, my face and
neck feel like their burning up.
Felt like this since Wednesday morning. Mom says I’m going through
withdrawal syptoms from bring my blood sugar sown.

update from Sue ( her e-mail)
August 20th, 2007 · No Comments
As usual, weather it is an emergency room or urgent care, it is sit -
sit - sit and wait - wait - wait. Finally got called into room. The
doctor there finally diagnosed a blood clot just down from the inside
bend of the elbow (down towards the wrist, not up towards the
shoulder). And then informed me they do not worry nor treat blood
clots in arms. They do not consider those dangerous. Only in the
legs, chest, or in the artery between the shoulder and neck. So, use
the arm. (Which I have been doing all along) and wait for it to clear
up on its own. He did say if I wanted to try some aspirin to help
it “reabsorb) I could do that. Even though he had the information
paper right in front of him that I can NOT take aspirin. Never could.
Neither could my dad. Thins our blood too much and we have severe
nose bleeds that are very hard to get stopped. He asked if I wanted a
prescription for pain medicine, but told him no. I will use Tylenol.
I really prefer not to use the prescription pain meds unless it is

News about sue.

I just got this e-mail from Sue. Please pray for her. She can sure use
alot of healing thought going her way.
Steph
We are off on our way to urgent care. I have been having problems with
my arm ever since I had three blood tests spread out in less than a
week. Has been tender about 1-2 inches down from inside part of bend of
elbow. When I feel that area, has been a lump about size of gum ball-
small marble. Today it is really sore and lump is much larger. Called
my doc, but he is in St. Louis office today. Didn’t have an appointment
till 4 this afternoon. Bill will be at work and I can not drive that
far. Any elevation of that left arm causes tingling in my hand so bad,
I can’t stand it. Tried heat on it (Bill’s suggestion) and now it
tingles all the time. Lump and hurt is no better. So doc said to have
urgent care check it out.

Thank you for that link, steph. I have been trying very hard to cut back on my sugar consumption, and have discovered that the less sugar I eat, the less I crave! I wonder if anyone else has ever experienced this? My cravings were very strong.

need a moderator
August 9th, 2007 · No Comments
If anyone is interested in being a moderator please let me know. It is
hard for me to be near the computer all the time to approve new members
and such, so if i can get a little helper it would be great. Sue was
doing it but she is not doing too good with her health. Please say a
prayer for her as well.
Owner,
Stephanie

Welcome to everyone new

Hi. I am Sue and supposed to be helping Steph with the group as moderator. Got a new computer in June and still learning things on it. Came with Vista and it is nothing bad like some of the things I had heard. Actually I am pretty happy with it, but then, I don’t do any major things with a computer, so I guess for my simple stuff, it is great. But there are some changes I am still learning. One of them is that a whole lot of things get sent to the junk mail section, so quite often, any notices about anyone wanting to join or that they did join, ends up in there and I don’t know about it. But yet, a few will show up in the regular inbox section. Also, if you have more than one email address, it is totally different in Vista of how those are hadled and I am still learing that one too. And of course then comes in the lovely health issues. The last blood work up my primary care doctor did (last week) showed the iron was still low (actually a bit lower than before) and the
sjogerns antibodies have increased. No specific treatments for them, outside of taking two iron pills everyday and recheck iron in one month. As if I weren’t tired enough these past years, now the iron and sjogerns sapping me even more. So tired that I am doing all can to cut down on things. Cut down is sort of a good word for a few things. Went to shop yesterday and instead of getting a perm like I have had for 30+ years, had her cut it off all the way down to only new growth. It is short. Shorter than my husband’s hair. The nape of the neck and around the ears is so short it dries immediately (faster than I can get it combed) and the top of my head is the longest. Just a bit shy of 1 1/2 inches long. But it is sooooo easy to take care of, and as I said - dries so fast (on it’s own, no blow dryer or anything) and in the heat we have been having, it is so nice and cool. The gal that has done my hair for the past 18 years has always hesitated to go this short, due to the
shape of my face and how big my face is from being over weight. But she wasn’t even half way through, when she exclaimed in surprise, “I like this, it is really cute!”. And wonder of wonders, when hubby walked in and saw it, he said he liked it. Wow,now that was a major statement. In all 34 years of our marriage, he has always said “it’s ok”. But I got a “I like it” out of him. Hmmm, wonder what the temperature in hell is. Ice skating rink? Ok, shame on me………………… Bad Sue, Bad Sue, ten lashes with a wet noodle. He did draw the line at my feeling adventursome, and said no wild, unusual, fun hair color. So, no deep burgandy, no black with purple haze to it, no burgandy with steaks of black through it. But I did cover up those grey streaks!!! Thank heaven for wonderful boxes of hair color they sell in the stores. Just my usual dark blonde/light brown. The natural color I am, well, minus those grey streaks coming in.
Saw the endo a couple weeks ago and he was please with the A1c. I am in the low 7’s now. Was in the upper 7’s the visit before that. Bill had to be the smartallic and show me up by being in the upper 5’s. And he is only one prandin. Here I do Byetta twice a day, Novalog twice (8 in the morning and 10 evening) and Lantus twice (50 morning and 20 night). I do have to admit to missing some of my shots the past couple months. Bill is so wrapped up with the extra garage he is building, that he has me running all over to get things he needs or is short of, and often he has woke me up to go get things. By the time I make the drive and back with the stuff, it is noon or later. Sometimes he will go with, to personally select something and he will stop to eat. Well, since I had no idea it was going to take that long (and many times, he does not have time to wait for me to pack the kit with the byetta to inject before eating or take the other insulins for after eating, it gets left
home). I will be so very very glad when he has his extra garage done. It is close to where, the siding is yet to be put on, the soffit is half done, get the garage doors installed (the garage door place is going to do that, thank heavens), run all the electrical wire inside, attach the boxes, put in the outlets, hook all them up, do the switches, install the outside coach lights on the front of the garage, install the one set of flood lights on the southeast corner, hook that all into the breaker box and hopefully it will be done. He says he will wait till next spring to drywall the inside. We have a three stall oversized attached garage on the house. But he wanted an outbuilding for storing things in. I told him, instead of just a building, why not put garage doors on one side of it and have an extra garage? Will make the house worth more with an extra garage than just a shed/outbuilding. It didn’t changed the size he wanted or anything. Just instead of one wall being a
solid wall, made room for garage doors. The single wide door is 9 feet tall and the double wide door is 11.9 feet tall. He got the bricks on the front of it the week he took off as vacation. Which turned out to be the hotest week of our whole summer. It was the week we were in the 100’s everyday.
