People, I’ve just discovered the best way, for me anyway, to bring
down my sugar and keep it controlled. I’m really excited because
it’s 3 pm right now and I just took my reading at 135!
What’s doing it is the Weight Watchers point system. I have a list
of most foods and I follow that list and get the points associated
with them. Then I total them during each meal. At the end of the
evening; before bedtime, I total the points and it has to be 35
points eaten for each day. It’s kept my blood sugar down to almost
normal readings and helped me to lose two pounds in four days. You
can even eat things like cookies. Two of any kind of cookies is 3
points and it doesn’t hurt you at all. The other day I ate half a
cup of hamburger helper and my sugar was 145 when I went to bed four
hours later. Lol, I feel like dancing because of this point system.

Ok so I have only be diabetic for a little over a year and so I am
still trying to get use the changes in my life. I am a culinary
student and I have to take baking classes with that so I have a few
questions all around.
1. Which sugar substitute would be best for my baking classes my
teacher says that I can bring some in so I can actually eat what I
cook.
2. I am on metformin 2000mg and avandia 4mg a day but I am still
having trouble keeping my sugar in range. I have tried exercising
and it does not seem to help. Do you have any suggestions?
3. What are some ways to eat better but not torture my family at the
same time.
