More americans then ever before have diabetes. the
disease affects an estimated 16 million adults and
children. thats approximately 6 percent of the
population, or 1 in every 17 people. what’s more only
about half the people with diabetes have their disease
under control. this is unfortunate because researchers
continue to identify methods to better manage this
common illness. unlike years ago, today if you receive
a diagnosis of diabetes you have a good chance of
living an active and healthy life, provided you and
your doctor take the necessary steps to control your
blood sugar.
perhaps your doctor recently broke the news that you
have diabetes. or you’ve learned that you’re at risk
of getting the disease. you’re worried- afraid of what
diabetes will do to you. will you have to eat
tasteless food that has no sugar? will you have to
give yourself daily shots of insulin? will you
eventually face an amputation? will your diabetes kill
you? for the majority of people with diabetes, the
answer is no! researchers have learned a great deal
about how to diagnose diabetes early and how to
control it. because of these advances, you can live
well and not suffer serious complications if you
follow your doctors’ advice regarding eating,
exercise, blood sugar monitoring, and when necessary,
use of medications….
see people. this comes straight out of a book i had from the mayo
clinic, one of the most respected hospitals in the entire u.s. if the
things they said were not true, they wouldnt be allowed to publish
the book. they clearly state that by keeping your blood sugars under
control, you will not suffer any serious complications. i’d say
blindness, kidney failure, or nerve damage is pretty serious! what
causes the damage is chronic high blood sugars. normal blood sugars
do not damage your body. whoever told you guys that all diabetics
will eventually develop complications is totally full of it. my
specialist said you have to average at least a 150 for complications
to develop. like thats hard to keep down and prevent? are you guys
going to call the mayo clinic a liar??
