Blog about diabetes

Hi,
my name is joy and I am new to the group; I have type 2 diabetes
since 1998?( can’t remember the exact year). I have been looking for
a support group since I can’t get my family to understand. They feel
I should have self control, but don’t understand it is hard when they
bring candy and junk food in the house. I don’t ususally eat it but
if it is there I want it and they feel a simple no should work; No a
no only causes me to sneak a piece. I try to eat right but it is
hard when the family don’t or even want to, they feel it is ok for me
to prepare two separate meals everyday and I shouldn’t want to eat
out all the time. I now have carpal tunnel and need surgery is this
a complication of this thing I suffer from ( I guess I am at the
angry stage that is why I call it this thing I suffer from). I don’t
test the stupid machine hurts (don’t like pain, tell me of a machine
that is painless and I will be glad to use it). I take my meds

everyday and have only missed 1 day since I started on the meds. I
take glucovance, avandia, zocor,and avapro. I am married with 2
sons. I need people who understands what I am going through that can
help me get control of this thing I suffer from.
