I’m new to group and I’d like to say hi. Diabetic since 1996, at 33,
now 42. At first I didn’t take care of myself, no money to get the
pills to control sugar. In 2000 I was put on insulin 2 shots a day.
I still didn’t take care of myself, ate sweets, lots. I finally
found a Dr. that actually cares about her patients including me.
Sometimes it takes a good Dr. to help you see that you are destroying
your life and chances to be healthy. I hope that we can get to be
friends, esp. Stephanie, love dogs. My name is Shay.

My name is Bob I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in August 2004. I have been able to control my diabetes through diet but my biggest problem is hypoglycemia. At times I drop below 70 and recently I dropped so far below 70 I passed out.

I hope to share my experiences with the family and also learn from others.

Thanks for the advice. I have recently started working with a diabetes education nurse to control my problem. I have been drinking orange juice at night which seems to help control my problem.

    Hi..
My name is Kathleen, I’m type 2 diabetic for a year now and have not really taken care
of myself or watched what I have at like I should so this morning decided it is time to
take responsibility so here I am
I take the pills Medaforman? or something like that 2 in the morning and 2 at night
I did go for my checkup last month and the dr. said everything looks super but I know me and
have not been that good at watching what I eat or exercising.
I have 5 kids, my oldest died in 98. I have 12 grandbabies who I see most of them all the time.
Have a very loving husband and custody of our oldest grandson so he is here with us.
Live on a mini farm love it big time…
Ok well that is about it for me

    Hello Folks,
My partner and I are both diabetic and frustrated with the lack of
information availble to help us lose weight and be in good control at
    the same time.
We were hopeing that contacting the “experts” which are the people that
have to live this 24/7 would plug us in to the right info.
Doesn’t seem to be much activity in this group though. Nothing posted
in the month of August at all.
I guess the moderator must be out there because we got approved for
    membership.
    What’s the scoop?
