Doctor day

August 28th, 2003 · No Comments

Well saw my diabetic specialist this afternoon. He had my blood test results already; had the blood drawn last Friday so he would have the results by today. My a1c was down from 8.3 two months ago to 7.3 this time. Not the best, but sure a lot better than when my original doc turned me over to the specialist. Was around 11. He increased my Lantus (insulin to anyone new to diabetes) from 26 units to 30 units. Of course Lantus is a 24 hour insulin, so that is a once a day injection. He left the Glucotrol and Avandia as they are. But then he can’t increase the Avandia anyway, due to my heart disease. Also my cholesterol was better. Again, not perfect, but better. I go back in another two months (unless there are any problems of course).

But I am upset with him for something that happened today. Here I went in there, feeling some extra tired and wore down and shame on him, I came out sick. While the assistant was doing vitals she discovered I had a fever. Doc looked down throat, listened to my lungs and chest, but didn’t find anything. But as night has set in, my right ear has plugged up, is hurting, and my throat is getting so darn soar. But then, I always have come down with stuff in the evening when I am getting sick. That is when the soar throat sets in, or coughing, or ear aches, or congestion, or anything else. Been that way all my life. But gee, I had only been feeling tired until I saw that mean ole doctor. :-( Oh well, he did give me prescription for Zythromax.

Love and best wishes to all,

Sue Who is going to go stick a thermometer in my ear and

see what my temp is at.
