Oxyclean and diabetes ?????

October 1st, 2003 · 1 Comment

I wonder if Oxyclean affects diabetes. Anyone have any ideas or knowledge on that one? Reason I am asking is that I had to make trip to Wal-mart last night to get something for my soar throat and decided while there to pick up couple things was out of; one being Oxyclean for using on white laundry. Then I was on way to get soar throat spray and happened to lick my lips (they were dry) and tasted like soap. At first I didn’t realize why, but as soon as the burning set in and tongue, mouth and throat started burning too, I noticed the tub of oxyclean and realized it had to have the product’s dust on it and got that on my hands and transferred it to my lips. Got to bathroom as soon as I could to wash hands (they started burning as soon as came in contact with water) and rinse off my lips.Got a bottle of water from one of the coolers in the checkout lanes and drank lots of water as I finished my store stuff. Drank lots of water all rest of evening and night till fell asleep. But
nausea sure set in while still in the store and is continuing this morning.

I am wondering since it was enough to give me an upset stomach, how much did get into my body’s system and does any of its ingredients affect diabetes. I know the main ingredient is a form or peroxide. Peroxide will make you throw up if you drink it but I don’t know how it would affect diabetes itself either. But it is also the other ingredients I am wondering about.

Well, will continue meds as normal and guess will make a couple extra sticks today for some extra glucose readings.

Any one got any ideas or knowledge about the oxyclean for me and if it could mess with diabetes???????

Love and best wishes to all,

Sue

who is really considering going back to bed (which is my chair, I sleep in a recliner. haven’t slept in a bed for years because of my heart disease, asthma, and other medical stuff)
