Oh my gosh! I never knew what a difference insulin needles can make pain wise! I just ran out of my first set of insulin needles/syringes and the ones they replaced them with were a completely different brand. I almost never had pain with my injections with the other needles/syringes. Just about every time I did my insulin injection, you could hardly tell anything was being done. And most certainly not any pain. Well, today was my first day with the new ones and talk about pain!!!!! I had to try three different injection sites on my abdomen to find one that could withstand the pain and after I pulled the needle out, I bleed like all get out. (Another thing I didn’t have happen with the other ones.) It still hurts almost half an hour later. This brand said “short needle” like my other one said, but it was no where near as short. The pharmacy said to bring them back and they will swap me for the original ones I had. The original ones I had were their store brand and these ones
that are so painful are a name brand. Also they are harder to draw up the insulin and to see the unit marks on them. The store brand works easier and the marks are very clear to see. Plus are $10 cheaper. Who would have thought a brand name could be worse than the store brand? Boy will I be glad not to have to use them and get back to my comfortable ones.
Anyone else been through this?
Love and best wishes,
Sue
