getting ill when taking insulin shots

December 14th, 2003 · No Comments

Hi robby. I have a question about something that came to mind. Are you still using the Lantus that is over 28 days old? Remember we all had a conversation some time back where you mentioned your’s had lasted for 4 months and was wondering why. I wrote that the instructions said to throw away after 28 days. But some people didn’t believe it was really worth it to do that. I contacted Aventis (the maker of Lantus) and asked them for an explanation of why it should be thrown away after 28 days. I didn’t forward the response, as everyone pretty much had their minds made up over the whole thing and it was really just for my own checking.

Anyway, what I am getting around to is; have you given yourself any insulin out of a new bottle or have they been out of old ones? Maybe, just maybe, that could be why the insulin is making you sick. But if you have used newly opened insulin and are still getting sick, I would agree with you about seeing another doctor and having new diabetic testing done. You want to make sure you are getting what is best and right for your body. And so do we. We care about you.

Love and best wishes,

Sue
