I wnet down to feed the chickens and Joey had been playin down there, he pulled out a piece of 2X4 I didnt see it and stepped on it and ran 2 big nails all the way into my foot. I am off to the hospital as soon as a sitter gets here. I am so stupid I know to watch out for my feet and to watch where i step. I am afraid I have just sealed my fate. I know they went all the way into, to the bone. –Linda–

Oh Linda! Please let us know how you are?! Be sure the tell the hospital that you are diabetic so they can take extra care of you. I feel so much for you and how bad it hurts. Several years ago I was outside (bare foot as usual) and hubby had pulled a 1/4 inch thick piece of plywood off something and left it nail side up. I stepped on it and like you ran the 16 penny nail all the way in. It was my first experience with passing out. Didn’t do it right away, but went into shock waiting at the er and went out like a light on them. So be careful that you don’t have a delayed reaction like that. But with good care and good help from your doctor, it should end up healing ok. Just make sure he/she keeps a close watch on the wounds as they are healing and call him/her right away if you notice the least little thing or even have a feeling about. Always better safe than sorry.
