Hi everyone. I am a shaking mess. Just got back from emergency run out to our vets for Blackberry. All of a sudden she wasn’t able to use her left back leg and her right one was week and having trouble supporting her. Preliminary exam is that the ligament in her knee is torn (left leg that she couldn’t use). They will put her under with gas in the morning for a better exam, as it hurts too much to do a full one with her awake. If it does confirm the ligament is torn, she will have to have surgery. It is only way to fix it. Kyle said as long as she will already be under the gas, if it is confirmed they will most likely do the surgery right away. That was she doesn’t have to be anestitised twice. I was so terrified it was something I would loose her over and cried all the way to the vets and then when Kyle said it is fixable and not something we would lose her over, then I cried just as much from relief. Of course I am crying off and on with worry about being under anesthia. I
know it is a very safe gas they use now days, but she is 13 years old and that is scary to have surgery at her age.
Please say a prayer for my dear Blackberry that she comes through everything ok and safe.
Thanks so much,
Sue
