Diabetics Help for Software Project

February 10th, 2005 · No Comments

Hi everyone,
I’m a Type II diabetic, and also a shareware software developer. I’m
working on a new
software program for diabetics (Both Type I/II) and wanted to see if
anyone would be
interested in helping out? It would mainly involve trying out my
program, helping me find
new good features to add, any ideas you have, etc.
I’m making the software available for both Macintosh and Windows
(There is a huge need
for a good comprehensive Macintosh diabetes management program), so
whichever type
of computer you use, I could definitely use your help. One main
feature of the program
that I *do* have working already is the ability to connect to

OneTouch (ultra model has
been tested by me, though others with a data port should also work)
glucometers. I also
plan to add support for other company’s meters (Accu-chek,
and…whatever else I can find
testers to help with). I realize that there are some programs that do
this already on the
Windows-side, but so far there aren’t any good options that I know of
available for Mac
users like me (the software from OneTouch unfortunately doesn’t work
on Macs) - so if
you’re a Mac user, I could especially use your help :) In exchange for your help, I can offer you a free version of whatever
the end product ends
up being (Hopefully a nicely full-featured program!), with as many of
your ideas that I can
possible include. Since I’m a Type II diabetic and (thankfully) only
require oral medication
so far, I could really use some help from any Type I
insulin-dependent
diabetics…preferably with OneTouch monitors (but not necessary).
As you can see, I’d be really excited to have anyone’s help with
this, no matter what your
expertise and experience is. If you’re interested, please contact me
at:
cbullock2@… and we can talk more about it. Thanks for your
interest, I look
forward to hearing from anyone interested.
