Wow. I was just doing some more research on the gastric bypass and the newer version, lap band. I was reading a major article on WebMD that the head of Gastric Surgery Association for the US and he was asked how it affected people with Type 2 diabetes. In 2003 they released findings that with gastric bypass, 83% of the people had complete resolution of their type 2 diabetes. With the lap band, it was 65% resolution of type 2 diabetes. I knew it would help the diabetes, but did not know how drastic it would.
