  Is anyone taking U500 insulin. Is it dangerious. I am taking 150 units
  of 75/25 mix now but will be taking U500 Saturday. My A1C is running
  8and I have to get it down. Steve Y

  New here. I am 57 and have had diabetes for 20 years. I am taking 150 units of insulin a day. 75/25 mix. My Bs bounces all over the place and have had many insulin reactions. My A1C tests are still 8. Now my endo wants me to start U500. Does anyone on here take this stuff. How dangerious is U500. The bottle says WARNING NOT FOR NORMAL DIABETIC USE. What will happen if I have another insulin reaction. Every time my endo increases my insulin my body will adapt and my BS goes back up to 220. This is why he is starting me on U500. My heart pluged up 4 years ago and I had to have a 4x bypass. My sternum never healed and I am setting here with a broken sternum and wires. I am a very hyper active person and can`t sit still whitch gets me in trouble. Can anyone tell me about U500?? Steve Y Faint
