I realized that several of you may not know one reason I’ve been talking about my tooth ache and the problems with it. It is just not that it is hurting and I feel miserable but it does affect our being diabetic. The stress from the pain has caused my glucose to go up (as it would/will any diabetic). Also my body dealing with the side effects of it is also being depleted of it’s reserve of energy/strength etc and that too affects our glucose readings. My readings went down some after my diabetic specialist increased my Lantus, then this tooth thing came on and my readings have been over 200 every day, every time I take it (sometimes once a day sometimes twice). This morning when I was feeling my worst, it was close to 300. All because of the stress from the tooth and also what my body was physically going through. Another point about our teeth and being diabetic; we have to see the dentist on a regular basis and make sure we follow the good oral hygiene that is recommended.
That is an important thing for diabetics.
Hope this helps some of you. And sorry if it was kind of hard to understand what all I was trying to get across, as I am still pretty much “out of it”.
Best wishes to everyone,
Sue
