Ok, back home. It is a fever blister that is infected. He said it was a good thing I came in. Usually fever blisters can be treated over counter, but this one got infected and needs medicine to take care of that. That’s why it got so big so fast. (infection)
Of course no pharmacies are open in our town and the only ones that are open this late at night are at Wentzville (closest town that would have pharmacy besides our town) would be Walgreen’s and they quit taking our insurance. (Any insurance that GM people have) Last time we got a scrip filled there and even paid for it ourselves, they were super snotty to us. And our dear insurance company will not reimburse us. So will have to wait till morning for Medicine Shoppe to open.
Love to all,
Sue

Still really groggy. I am sure it is hold over from anesthesia twice in a matter of days and also the vicodin for the pain. But today is the first I have been able to set up straight for over a few minutes without getting sick to my stomach. Was able to take off the packing, and bandages of the knee yesterday. Covered with a rash (boy! does it itch!!!) from just above the ankel to about 1-2 inches from the top of my leg. Only place not covered with rash is right on the knee and the surgery area. Am packing on the cortisone as much as possible and put three anti itch creams: lanacane, lydocane and benedryl (all three one on top of another). The knee/surgery area itself is getting the triple antibiotic onintment, to help keep it from being so sore and keep the area soft so it doesn’t pull and hurt. Doc says I don’t have to put any bandages on it. But still continue to keep it elevated and ice on it. Was busy with my respritory doc most of yesterday. Have been having a lot of
wheezing, coughing and congestion in the evenings and over night. Went to his office (in the city) and had only been home a few minutes when his nurse called and said he decided he wanted a cat scan done to make sure there was no pulminary embolizem. So, back down to the city to set and wait for the ct. Left for the first trip to the docs office at noon, got home about 4:15 pm and was back on road to hostpital for the ct by 4:30. Didn’t get home from the wait for the ct scan, results and then the radiologist to talk to the doc, until just about 9:30 last night.
Haven’t been able to read any emails and don’t know when I’ll be up to writing again. Hope all of you are doing ok.
Back to bed for me, get another ice pack on the knee and fall asleep (the vicodin for this morning is kicking in)
