Good info, Sue……but why would you be on two…………….

January 12th, 2006 · No Comments

different insulins if the one is long acting? And is it given first
thing in am and short acting at bedtime??? Dumb question now…..can
you actually FEEL any different physically after you’ve had insulin
(how soon?)….do you feel anything after the ORAL t 2 meds? Is
there any “interaction” of the insulin(dosage times) to the oral t 2
meds(dosage times)?
You said you do the monitor blood tests in your arm but not above
the elbow…..does that mean you test ONLY in your forearm area?
I’ve heard that finger is ideal location, but the pain must be
terrible….is that why you do arm, and finger is more reliable
results…..how reliable is forearm????Do you alternate forearms on
each test?
As you said, I’m sure I’ll have to test and keep record 3-4 times a
day….do they make a needle prick for testing glucose that is in an
injector(pen-like) device like they do some insulins? Would that

hurt less. (3-4 times daily FOREVER is not a happy camper…).
I couldn’t have scripted a worse disease to have! If I am put on a
PPI acid blocker, will that interact with the t2 med? I’m terribly
sensitive to drug reactions…had (still have) bad adr’s from
Levaquin antibiotic I took 3 yrs ago….messed my immune system up
and is “probably” responsible for the diabetes.
Thanks Sue for your continued support….what is your recommendation
on selecting a diabetic counselor to get me started…..group
classes or one on one? How long (weeks, months) do they last? Thanks
again, Shybasset(at least the Lord gave me 58 1/2 years without
this awful disease).
