My cardiologist called last week and said he wanted to meet with me about the results of the stress that was done a couple weeks ago. Of course I got nervous about it and called his office back to ask if there was a problem, but they told me he routinely does this for a stress test. SO, just got home from seeing him. There was some abnormal stuff found (not related to the heart disease I already have) and I have to have a cardiac catheterization done. The abnormality is usually seen with some sort of blockage. Now they have to go in and see if there is a blocked, where exactly (they know the section of the heart, but not exactly where in that section) it is and if there is a blockage, put a stint in. Or if it is bad enough, heart bypass surgery. He is thinking it is not bad enough for heart bypass, but they never know for sure what they are up against till they see it for sure. I know this is pretty minor, but just the “unknown” is scary enough. (Mom died from her heart
disease, Grandma died from it, mom’s sister died from it, two brothers have died of it and her two brothers still alive have it, my brother has it and all my cousins on mom’s side of the family has it).
Just thought I’d give you an update of today’s news.
Love,
Sue
