Good morning! It has been a really good day here so far. We got up and opened presents about 8:00 this morning. I got some great stuff, a beautiful heart shaped locket of a ladybug on a daisy (in memory of my dear Lady, we often called her “ladybug”), Bill went to our old house and got Lady’s tree we had planted in her memory after she died (he didn’t have time to dig it up and move it when we moved and then the house was sold before we could get it. He talked to the new owner and explained the special meaning of it and they said if we replaced it with another tree of same size we could have it), the kids gave me a yule log to eat (no not the wood kind, a pecan log with holiday fruit bits in it) and I also got a “20 questions” game. I am amazed how often it guesses right within the 20 question session (if it doesn’t get it in 20 questions it will continue asking and guess again). The kids all got new collars (not the kitties), Blackberry got a nyla chew bone that is the gel
that can be chewed but not eaten. Lucy and Murphy each got one of the toy dogs that is long like the dachshund in the petstore commercial carries around until it wears out and then they go to the store for a new one, and they scan the toy while the doxie is holding it cause he loves it so much. They loved theirs too and were having a good time, until Murphy decided both of them should be his to chew on. For a while Lucy would just go grab the one he wasn’t chewing on, then he decided to give a chop on one then the other and back and forth so that he was chewing on both of them. When Lucy went to take one, he tried to stop her and we had to break up a small fight. Then neither one got to chew on them, as they got put up for a bit. Also instead of their usual dry food for breakfast, we had gotten each one’s type of food in the canned version and they got that for breakfast, will get the rest for supper tonight. My one cousin gave us a pretty wall clock and my other cousin gave
us a Lowe’s gift card (which is perfect, as Bill is going to have to buy the wood to make the railing around the porch to keep Lucy from running away if she gets out again) and she also gave us two CD’s of the Trans Siberian Orchestra. Have them in and love them. What a great day!!!!!!!!!!! I so hope all of you are having as wonderful of a day. And also, while enjoying the gifts, food and good family and friends, please don’t forget the most important part of today, why it is Christmas.
Well, oven just beeped to let me know it is ready (has been preheating) and need to go pop the ham in.
Love to all,
Bill, Sue
Blackberry, Lucy, Murphy
Kit, Tinker, M.A. Kitty (known as the brat cats)
BTW: they got cat nip for their Christmas. Oh my!
