Wow, I got a neat phone call today. I was asked if I would be part of a research group for type 2 diabetics with high blood pressure. It is being done in St. Louis and Barnes-Jewish Hospitals in connection with Washington University. (big time research place. one of the leading places in the US) The doctor explained about what was done via lab with the mice/rats and it did lower blood pressure in them (they also had t2 diabetes) Now they are ready to start the human studies. The doctor will call first of next week of when to come in for my screening and see if I do qualify for the research study. I am so excited. I don’t know if I will be in the group that gets the medication or the group that gets a placebo, but just knowing I might be a part of something that may eventually help diabetics is so exciting. I so hope I qualify.
