Ok, well, saw Dr. Uchiyama this morning for the results of all those tests he had done the first part of December. Here is what is happening so far: Sjogrens (show-grens) antibodies were positive so have that. Iron deficiency. The thyroid THS came back low, “suggesting” hyperthyroid. (Further blood work is going to be done: T-3 free and T-4 free and thyroid stimulating immunoglobulin). Of course the osteoarthritis. Yes, cholesterol is high; the LDL. The CT scan and MRI results were: tear of the posterior horn of the medial meniscus. (Have to see ortho surgeon for that one) The back results were: disc bulging at L2-L3 and L3-L4 and also a left nerve root pinching at L5-S1.
He gave me several prescriptions. He is holding off the medication for restless leg syndrome, as he said the iron deficiency could cause that. As mentioned, he has a bunch more blood work he wants done. And to see the ortho surgeon.
He is not happy with where I got my blood drawn or the CT and MRI done. They are a part of St. Luke’s health care providers and hospital, but the St. Luke’s Winghaven care center is where I had it done and they never sent any of the results to him. So he got what he could off the there site, but was not able to get all information. He wants me to have any tests that are for him to be done there at the hospital’s site/doctor’s offices lab and CT/MRI/x-ray unit. Winghaven is only about 20 miles from us and my three main care doctors have their office there. The hospital’s site is down in the city.
So, that is the extra fun stuff I have on top of the IHSS, asthma, diabetes, fibro/CFS and the osteoarthritis.
