off to start the day

June 10th, 2007 · No Comments

Well, we are about to head out the door to start the day. Will be taking the kids out to the vets’ to spend the morning and afternoon with them. Since we will be gone from 7:00 am until close to 1:00 pm, that is too long for them to stay in their crates and not be let out potty. Once we drop by the vets, will be headed to city for the hospital. I don’t need to be at the GI lab until 9:30, but the same day surgery wants an EKG for my knee operation that is this Wednesday, so they said to come in this morning before the oscopies and they could get the EKG this morning. They want me there (same day surgery area) at 8:00 for the EKG. Once they are done with their tests, then I go to the other end of the hospital to the GI lab for them to get there things started on me. Or course the pre-procedure things, start and iv, and all that. Since they are doing oscopies on both ends I think they are figuring at least an hour I’ll be in the procedure room. And of course, then in recovery
for a bit afterwards to make sure I am getting over the sedative (they do sedate enough to go to sleep) and also will make sure I have something to drink. Boy, could I use something to drink! I am so thirsty, I could spit cotton.

Don’t know how I’ll feel once back home, but if up to it, will let you all know how it turned out.

Then back to city for the knee surgery on Wednesday. That one will be general anesthesia, but same day surgery (used to be called out patient surgery) and is not a knee replacement, but arthroscopic for the meniscus. Ortho doc said knee replacement would need to be done when I am older.
