Another day - another trip to hospital

June 16th, 2007 · No Comments

Well, Wednesday finally came and will be leaving shortly for hospital. Today is the arthroscopic surgery for the torn meniscus in my knee. Monday’s surgery was iv anesthesia, but today’s will be general anesthesia. Hope it goes as easy as Monday’s sleep did. Sure wish I could have the same gal put in my iv that did it on Monday. I never felt a thing. Usually there is always that initial “WOW” that happens when they put it in and the pain for a few minutes, but the gal that did the one on Monday was so good, I didn’t even feel when she did it. Of course am a bit nervous this morning. They said I could take a xanax to help with that. May do so. But what is helping the most is I keep reminding myself that God and Jesus will take care of me. Of course I put myself into Their hands for all this. Hope there is no problems with this one with the anesthesia people over the EKG that they took. Finally got to talk to my cardiologist yesterday and he got to see it and it had some
missed/dropped beats. He also finally got to see my holter results from a couple weeks ago and it had bunches of missed/dropped beats all the way through it. So he will be adding a medication either later this week or next week. I am on a calcium channel blocker for the IHSS and now for the misses/dropped beats he is going to add or just switch to a beta blocker. He is just trying to figure out which one. He tried one a few years ago and I kept having respiratory problems with it, plus being diabetic, they are not good to use for diabetics. They have a tendency to raise the glucose and also if you have an instance of your glucose dropping too low, they also will mask the symptoms of that. Ahhh, gee, what fun, huh? Anyway, he is checking into what would be best medication for helping the heart beats. But he did give the ok for today’s surgery.

Well, time to get dressed and load the kids. Will be dropping them at the vets again so they won’t be in their crates too long.
